How it works

The free path never touches a paid AI service. Results come from a bundled static nutrition snapshot (typical USDA-style values per 100 g for 150+ ingredients) held in SQLite, plus deterministic scoring engines. That's why answers are instant and the free tier stays free.

Is this powered by AI?

The free assistant is a deterministic matching engine: it scores your ingredients against a library of tested recipes and returns the closest matches with honest macros. No magic, no guesswork.

What if I have just one ingredient?

It will still show you the closest recipes built around that ingredient, with the extras you'd need to buy.

Are the macros on suggestions real?

Yes — every suggested recipe's macros are computed from its actual ingredient list by the same engine as the nutrition calculator.
